The Lake District Directory arrow Coniston

Coniston is a popular spot for hill walking, rock climbing and mountain biking. Around Coniston there are fine walks to be had on the nearby Furness Fells and Grizedale Forest, and some of the finest rock in the Lake District on the eastern face of Dow Crag, three miles from the village.  The village of Coniston lies between Coniston Water and the Old Man of Coniston.
